Micronutrient Accumulation in Conilon Coffee Berries with Different Maturation Cycles
01/Sep/2015
ABSTRACT The number of days between anthesis and maturation of conilon coffee berries varies according to the genotype. Thus, it is believed that periods of greater nutrient demand for fruit formation also vary according to the genotype, directly influencing fertilizer management. The goal of this study was to establish accumulation curves for the micronutrients boron, copper, iron, manganese, and zinc in conilon coffee trees with different maturation cycles. The experiment was conducted in Nova Venécia, State of Espírito Santo, Brazil, […]
Dry matter and macronutrient accumulation in fruits of Conilon coffee with different ripening cycles
01/Feb/2014
The period between anthesis and fruit ripening varies according to the Conilon coffee (Coffea canephora) genotype. Therefore, the time of the nutritional requirements for fruit formation may differ, depending on the formation phase and the genotype, and may directly affect split application of fertilizer. The aim of this study was to quantify the accumulation of dry matter and N, P, K, Ca, Mg and S at several stages in the fruit of the Conilon coffee genotype with different ripening cycles, […]
Phosphorus uptake, translocation and utilization in wheat varieties under aluminum toxicity
01/Apr/2003
Aluminum tolerant wheat varieties can present increased efficiency of phosphorus use in presence of aluminum. A greenhouse experiment was conducted in 1994 to compare the wheat cultivars (Toropi) and (CNT 8), considered efficient and inefficient, respectively, in relation to phosphorus use. Nutrient solutions containing two phosphorus (1.6 and 32.3 µmol L-1) and two aluminum (0.0 and 37.0 µmol L-1) concentrations were tested. Root morphology and phosphate use were established for the plants, which were harvested from the pots on the 31th day. Roots of the Toropi […]
