Optimizing application of biochar, compost and nitrogen fertilizer in soybean intercropping with kayu putih ( Melaleuca cajuputi )
27/Aug/2020
ABSTRACT Waste resulted from the distillation of kayu putih leaves is a problem in almost all kayu putih refineries throughout Indonesia due to its enormous availability and un-utilization. It has potential to be used as an organic fertilizer source due to its nutrient content (macro and micro) which is higher than organic fertilizer from animals. The use of kayu putih waste is useful to complement and increase the efficiency of nitrogen fertilizer in soybean intercropping with kayu putih . This […]
Hydrogel synthesis and kinetics of ammonium and potassium release
01/Aug/2008
Hydrogels based on polyacrylamide (PAAm) were synthesized and their efficiency for the controlled release of ammonium and potassium contained in fertilizers evaluated. The hydrogels were synthesized by polymerizing acrylamide (AAm) in aqueous solution at two acrylamide concentrations (3.6 and 21.7 %) using N-N’-methylene-bisacrylamide (MBAAm) as cross-linker and N,N,N’,N’ tetramethylethylenediamine (TEMED) as catalytic agent. Nutrient fixation was performed by immersion of hydrogels in aqueous nutrient solutions with 86 and 82 mg L-1 K+ and NH4+. The hydrophilic, spectroscopic and morphological properties […]
Addition of triple superphosphate anticipates nitrogen leaching in soil
01/Oct/2007
Leaching of N added to soils as ammonium or as other forms that transform into it depends partially on nitrification because ammonium is retained by the soil negative charges, while nitrate remains completely in the soil solution. Since the decrease of the soil pH at fertilized sites can negatively affect nitrification, our study aimed to evaluate the effect of adding an acidifying phosphate together with nitrogen fertilizers on nitrogen leaching in an acid soil. The experiment was carried out in […]
Sugar cane yield as related to the location of nitrogen fertilizer applied on top of unburnt sugar cane residues
01/Jun/2007
Knowledge about the proper management of not-burned sugar cane is still limited, particularly regarding nitrogen fertilization. A field experiment was carried out to evaluate sugar cane yield, the balance of 15N fertilizers in the soil-plant-residue system and ammonia loss by volatilization in sugarcane ratoon crop without straw burning prior to mechanical harvesting, comparing different locations of surface-applied nitrogen fertilizers. The sugar cane variety SP81-3250. Treatments were arranged in a complete randomized blocks, with four replicates. The treatments consisted of four […]
Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) yield and seed quality under the influence of nitrogen split and sources
01/Sep/2001
This research aimed to evaluate the influence of nitrogen sources and application time on yield and quality of bean seed cropped in the winter period. A clayey typic Haplustox was used in a 2 x 7 factorial scheme, with 2 N sources (urea and ammonium sulfate) and 7 application time combinations (0-0, 0-75, 15-60, 30-45, 45-30, 60-15, and 75-0 kg ha-1 of N, respectively at sowing time and 22 days after plant emergence). Treatments were supplied 60 kg ha-1 P2O5 […]
